After the great success of “The LowSwing Sessions” and “Memories Fade To Tape”, which have been voted album of the month and album of the year by many trade and music magazines and are also highly regarded by the audiophile community for their sound and music quality, “One For Sorrow, Two For Joy” is now being released with ten new original songs by British artist Reema. For the recordings of this sensational album, Reema teamed up with two outstanding musicians: Dan Hemmer, one of the world's best Hammond players, known for his role in the trio “Blicher Hemmer Gadd” (with Michael Blicher and Steve Gadd) and Tilo Weber (drums and percussion), winner of the “German Jazz Award 2022”. Additional musicians include Haggai Cohen-Milo on upright bass and bass guitar, and Guy Sternberg on Moog “Minimoog” synthesizer.
Sarah “Reema” Kaydar was born in London in 1985, the daughter of Marius Müller-Westernhagen. She grew up with her mother, an artist and photographer who worked in the orbit of artists such as Brian Eno, Michael Karoli and Jah Wobble. Influenced by this environment, she discovered her passion for songwriting at the age of seven. She built up a large fan base and received a lot of positive feedback from the trade media through her soundtrack contributions to the feature film “Love, Rosie – Forever Maybe” and the concerts with her band “Mimi And The Mad Noise Factory” as the opening act for great bands like The Kaiser Chiefs, Imagine Dragons and Biffy Clyro. “One For Sorrow, Two For Joy” was recorded live at the new LowSwing studio in Berlin – purely analog, with minimal overdubs and driven by respect and passion for purist recording techniques. The double LP, limited to 1,000 numbered copies and packaged in a luxurious gatefold sleeve, was mastered at Emil Berlin Studios, cut at 45 RPM and later pressed on three sides at Optimal Media using the unique “one-step processing” technique, which ensures a crystal-clear sound.
LowSwing Records is a young record label dedicated to the love of music in analog format. LowSwing productions are recorded and mixed on analog tape and then cut directly to vinyl. The heart of the label is the LowSwing Recording Studio in Berlin (www.lowswing.de), where owner Guy Sternberg devotes himself to exciting new artists with the production values of yesteryear.
