Born in Seattle, USA, in 1961, saxophonist Aaron Heick became known through his work with the CBS Orchestra on the Late Show with David Letterman and has played with many of the world's greatest musicians, including Chaka Khan, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Donald Fagen, Lenny Kravitz, Lady Gaga, James Taylor, and Bruce Springsteen, to name but a few. Together with the Romantic Jazz Trio led by John Di Martino, a multiple Grammy Award-nominated composer, arranger and pianist, he continues his successful collaboration with Venus Records, which began with hit albums such as “Smooth Operator” and “Europe”.
On “After The Love Has Gone”, Aaron Heick (alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, flute) and John Di Martino (piano) are accompanied by Lonnie Plaxico (electric bass) and Vince Cherico (drums, percussion). The ensemble plays a romantic selection of songs by Michael Jackson, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, and many others that are simply a delight to listen to. Highly recommended for relaxed evenings.
Venus Records was founded in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” – also for the limited Japan only SACD (DSD, Non-Hybrid) of “After The Love Has Gone”, which was recorded on May 9 & 10, 2022 at Tedesco Studio in New York . This special mastering produces a very powerful, present sound and is highly valued by audiophiles worldwide.
