In 1983 The Police returned from their self-imposed hiatus with 'Synchronicity'. The album made the band superstars. Sadly, it was also the last before Sting left the band in favour of a solo career. Five of the eleven tracks entered the charts, including the Grammy-winning Stalker song 'Every Breath You Take'. Sting insisted that he could work best when pain and turmoil characterised his life - the title 'King of Pain' bears witness to this. Sadly, his poor health also affected the band, so the chapter 'The Police' ended with 'Synchronicity'.
