Beethovens Musik zu Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Drama Egmont ist eine der bekanntesten Schauspielmusiken, die oft auch losgelöst von der Theatervorstellung im Konzertsaal zu hören ist. Diese Aufnahme der Berliner Philharmoniker unter Dirigent Herbert von Karajan entstand im Januar und August 1969. Zu hören sind die Sopranistin Gundula Janowitz und Erzähler Erich Schellow.
