Dexter Gordon's “Go!” was recorded on August 27, 1962 with Sonny Clark (piano), Butch Warren (bass) and Billy Higgins (drums) and released on Blue Note later that same year. Critics and jazz fans alike greeted the album with great enthusiasm. It showcases the renowned American tenor saxophonist at the height of his career and is now considered the quintessential hard bop album: outstanding in its musicality, its engaging compositions and the synergy between him and his bandmates. “Go” has stood the test of time and will forever remain a seminal work in the jazz canon.
