In 1962, Bill Evans signed a contract with the new owner of the Verve Records label, Creed Taylor. This collaboration produced more than 15 albums over the next eight years. Taylor helped Evans try out different formats - from playing with Gary McFarland's big band to collaborating with saxophonist Stan Getz and working with Claus Ogerman and his orchestra.
Evans recorded his eighth album for Verve, Trio '65, in 1965 with bassist Chuck Israels and drummer Larry Bunker under the direction of Rudy van Gelder.
