Características
1948 gründete sich mit dem Amadeus Quartett eines der außergewöhnlichsten Streichquartette der Nachkriegszeit. Über 40 Jahre lang erarbeiteten sich Norbert Brainin (1. Violine), Siegmund Nissel (2. Violine), Peter Schidlof (Viola) und Martin Lovett (Violoncello) ein umfangreiches Repertoire von Werken der Klassik und Romantik.
Diese Einspielungen der Streichquartette Ludwig van Beethovens entstanden im April und Juni 1963.
