Norwegian soprano Sissel Kyrkjebø is one of the most sought-after crossover artists in the music world today. In the course of her career, she has sung the Olympic anthem at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, performed with Plácido Domingo, Charles Aznavour, José Carreras, Andrea Bocceli, Brian May, Diana Krall, Warren G, Dee Dee Bridgewater and The Chieftains, and can be heard on the soundtrack to the blockbuster film Titanic alongside Céline Dion.
"Gift of Love" was recorded in 1992 for the Polygram label and was her first English-language album. This is a limited edition, with the first 1,000 copies numbered.
This hybrid SACD has been remastered for the Asian audiophile market by Sound Max Studios in Hong Kong. Experience has shown that these are subtle interventions, primarily aimed at avoiding unnecessary compression. Master files from Universal Music in England were used for this purpose.
