It was an employee of Canterbury Television who gave Hayley Westenra's career the decisive boost. The New Zealand singer had recorded and distributed a demo as a twelve-year-old in 2000. It fell into the right hands, led to a live performance on television and the first record deal was not long in coming. Hayley Westenra's debut album of the same name was an instant success, reaching number one in the New Zealand charts on its release.
This Hybrid SACD has been remastered for the Asian audiophile market by Sound Max Studios in Hong Kong. Experience has shown that these are subtle interventions, primarily aimed at avoiding unnecessary compression. Master files from Universal Music in England were used for this purpose.
