Características
Saxophonist Sahib Shihab played with many of jazz's greatest musicians, including Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey and Dizzy Gillespie. His distinctive sound was based on his modernist compositions and arrangements, complemented by an intense, soulful playing style. In 1959 he toured Europe with Quincy Jones, after having had enough of the racial politics in the USA and finally settling in Scandinavia, where "The Danish Radio Jazz Group" was recorded and released for the first time on the Danish "Oktav" label.
This rare album, highly regarded by connoisseurs, is now finally being reissued by Sam Records in a limited edition of 3.000 copies.
