This is the follow-up album to the well-known title “Pomp & Pipes” (RR-058) and takes the listener back to the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas. The CD is labeled with the words “Festive music for organ, wood. & brass and percussion” and this can certainly be taken as a threat, because Prof. Keith Johnson gives free rein to the dynamics of the recording and generates lush soundscapes.
The Dallas Wind Symphony is again conducted by Jerry Junkin and the internationally renowned organist Mary Preston masters her instrument even in this gigantic performance. The album is a feast for listeners who want to stretch their music system from the highest highs to the lowest lows.
