The musicians of the top-class "Hermitage Piano Trio" all celebrated worldwide successes as soloists, but are also critically acclaimed for their outstanding harmonic interplay: violinist Misha Keylin, pianist Ilya Kazantsev and cellist Sergey Antonov. Their first joint and direct Grammy-nominated release, "Rachmaninoff" (also on Reference Recordings) from 2020, is followed by their latest release, "Spanish Impressions." This selection of works by Arbos, Perello, Turina and Cassado delights with a breadth of moods and sounds: romantic, exotic, lush - an exciting combination. The U.S.-based trio is distinguished by its exuberant musicianship, interpretive range and sumptuous sound.
The recordings took place at the famous Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts. And the production team is also impressive, having won or been nominated for several Grammy awards: Sound engineer and technical director Keith O. Johnson, sound engineer Sean Royce Martin, and producers Marina and Victor Ledin.
