This release features three compositions by Johannes Brahms, beautifully interpreted by Michael Stern and the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra. The recording was made live in Kansas City's impressive and acoustically acclaimed Helzberg Hall, part of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The production team is also renowned in the industry and includes Grammy-winning producer Peter Rutenberg and engineers 'Prof' Keith O. Johnson and Sean Royce Martin. Michael Stern's acclaimed 19-year tenure as Music Director of the Kansas City Symphony has been marked by the orchestra's remarkable artistic rise, its organisational development and stability, and the extraordinary growth of its diverse audience. Stern and the orchestra have partnered with Reference Recordings to produce a series of highly acclaimed recordings. "Brahms: Reimagined Orchestrations" is the tenth.
