Características
In addition to works by Bach, the Bach Aria Soloists also present Handel, Mendelssohn and Monteverdi as well as a new transcription of Cecilia McDowall's song cycle "Four Shakespeare Songs" on the latest release from Reference Recordings. The title "Le Dolce Sirene" aptly symbolizes the dynamic, feminine expressiveness of the ensemble. The Kansas City-based group's repertoire includes chamber music from the Renaissance to contemporary, vocal arias, tango, and commissioned works by new living composers.
Their critically acclaimed new theme spotlights the genius of Bach, his contemporaries and those he inspired, and showcases the versatility of all the soloists with a focus on Grammy-winning soprano Sarah Tannehill Anderson. Artistic Director Elizabeth Suh Lane calls their new recording "a quintessential celebration of our baroque and contemporary chamber music performances."
