Lightnin' Hopkins was one of the most recorded artists in the blues, and the present recordings were made at a key moment in his career. By 1960, at age 48, he was no longer just a star in the black community; he was emerging as a folk legend. When Hopkins died in 1982, he had produced more than 600 such 'listening snapshots.' From this rich body of work, Candid Session is one of his finest and most intimate.
