"The Boss of the Blues" from 1956 is celebrated among connoisseurs as one of the greatest blues/jazz albums ever. Big Joe Turner is in his vocal prime and is accompanied by excellent musicians from the legendary Count Basie's circle including his arranger. The LP is considered to be one of the first blues concept albums; until then there were almost exclusively compilations with previously released songs.
