Pianist Knud Jörgensen, who died in 1992 at the age of only 64, produced a genuine Opus 3 bestseller with his album “Teach Me Tonight” recorded in 1984. Jörgensen was considered one of Sweden's best all-round pianists. With a penchant for Oscar Peterson, he offers his own highly individual and dynamic interpretations of numerous swing classics together with Sture Akerberg (bass) and Johann Dielemans (drums). Jörgensen's playing is incredibly varied and diverse. Elegant, light melodies merge with raw harmonies to create crackling tension. Jörgensen rose to fame during his career thanks to his exquisite reputation as a super sideman on tours and recordings with many international jazz greats. This Hybrid SACD from Opus 3 has been mastered from the original tapes in the label's own studio and offers significantly more spatial information and a more open, silky sound compared to the original mastering from 1984. The booklet contains detailed information on the recording technology and microphones used.
