Pianist Knud Jörgensen, who died in 1992 at the age of only 64, produced a genuine Opus 3 bestseller with his album recorded in 1984. Jörgensen was considered one of Sweden's best all-round pianists. With a penchant for Oscar Peterson, he offers his own highly individual and dynamic interpretations of numerous swing classics together with Sture Akerberg (bass) and Johann Dielemans (drums). Jörgensen's playing is incredibly varied and diverse. Elegant, light melodies merge with raw harmonies to create crackling tension. Jörgensen rose to fame during his career thanks to his exquisite reputation as a super sideman on tours and recordings with many international jazz greats.
