In the mid-1980s, Andrew Eldritch was the last remaining member of The Sisters Of Mercy. After various departures and kick-outs, only the drum machine Boss DR 55, also known as Doctor Avalanche, faithfully stood by the side of the eccentric singer. In 1987, Eldritch signed bassist Patricia Morrison and released the superbly produced "Floodland," an epic album of its time.
Remastering by Krieg Wunderlich for the Mobile Fidelity Silver Series emphasizes the superb dynamics and extended spaciousness of the Jim Steinman production, best known for his collaboration with Meat Loaf. "This Corrosion," arguably the Sisters' best-known hit, sounds downright breathtaking. The 140g vinyl LP is released in limited edition with consecutive serial number.
