In his liner notes to "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme", music critic Ralph J. Gleason wrote in 1966: "The songs on this album are songs for all time". Krieg Wunderlich's remastering of the LP at 33 rpm for Mobile Fidelity proves just how right he was. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel released their third album again with producer Bob Johnston, known for his perfectionism, who had sound engineer Roy Halee capture their precise arrangements with an eight-track recorder.
Simon and Garfunkel had fought for an unusual four months of studio time, after the previous album, Sounds of Silence, had to be created in less than a month. Mobile Fidelity's reissue brings to light textures, nuances, details, and microdynamics that were hidden in earlier editions, accurately reflecting the duo's precision.
