Miles Davis worked with arranger Gil Evans three times in his career. After 'Miles Ahead' and 'Porgy and Bess', together they created 'Sketches of Spain', a high point in both their careers. Combining Spanish themes, lush orchestration, romantic timbre and Davis' increasingly lyrical playing, the album still resonates five decades after its initial release. Along with Kind of Blue, In a Silent Way and Round About Midnight, Sketches of Spain is one of Miles Davis' most innovative and enduring albums.
The hybrid SACD has been remastered by Shawn R. Britton and comes in a limited edition mini LP cover (incl. detailed booklet) with consecutive serial numbering.
