The Eagles' sixth studio album was released in 1979. Three years had passed since its predecessor 'Hotel California', and a few months later the US rock band broke up after heated personal disputes. Although the reviews for The Long Run were negative, the album's popularity helped it reach number one in the US album charts for the fourth time in a row. The single "Heartache Tonight" won a Grammy in the category "Best Rock Performance".
