Under the aegis of the company Audioquest, this album was recorded in full analog at Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood in 1997. In these very studios, the project "XRCD" was significantly developed and even producer Joe Harley still goes in and out there today. So what could be more obvious than to finally bring the groovy blues recording of Terry Evans with Ry Cooder on guitar into the ultimate form?
The master tape was sent to Japan where it fell into the capable hands of Kazuo Kiuchi, owner of Combak and maker of Harmonix tuning products, and veteran Tohru Kotetsu, who already made the Sara K. XRCD sound better than the SACD of the same recording. The team created a groovy, fat and yet outrageously audible sound of the blues recording. Finest fare for audiophile music listeners who don't always like to hear delicate female voices, but also once fatty and earthy recordings.
