Guitarist Fausto Mesolella is one of the best session and studio musicians in Italy. Numerous musicians engaged him as an accompanist for their albums or tours, including international stars such as Paolo Conte, Gianna Nannini or Andrea Bocelli. Mesolella, who has won numerous awards as a guitarist and composer, has also been active for over 25 years in the jazz-pop combo Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel and since 2005 as a solo artist. The live album "Ad Alcatraz", recorded in August 2013, is his third solo album.
With a carefully coordinated program of original compositions and his versions of famous classics by Nino Rota, Di Capua, John Lennon, Astor Piazolla and Michael Jackson, the Italian master guitarist thrilled his audience at his performance in the remote Umbrian Alcatraz, a mixture of university and vacation village. Unafraid of different genres or styles, Mesolella impressively proves on "Live Ad Alcatraz" that he is not only a technically brilliant guitarist, but also a highly original arranger.
