New York-born pianist Duke Jordan became known with Charlie Parker's famous 1947 quintet. During his long music career, he also worked for and with jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz and Sonny Stitt/Gene Ammons. In 1982, during his third visit to Japan, he created "So Nice Duke," recorded in a perfect jazz bar called So Nice in Nagoya for the Three Blind Mice label.
At the age of 60, Duke Jordan plays a series of popular jazz standards. His performance is incomparable and timeless, the remastering by Tohru Kotetsu, Kazuo Kiuchi and Shizuo Nomiyama is vivid and touching. The original analog master tapes were used for this, mastered with the JVC 24bit AD converter with K2 rubidium clock.
