Since the late 1980s, the AudioQuest Music label, now Sledgehammer Blues, has been producing outstanding albums and with renowned blues musicians. Producer Joe Harley attaches great importance to audiophile recording quality. To achieve this, he uses analog technology with custom tube electronics. Noise reduction, compression, equalizers or limiters are avoided. As a result, AudioQuest tracks sound realistic and spontaneous.
The "BluesQuest" sampler includes tracks by Terry Evans, Doug MacLeod, Mighty Sam McClain, and Joe Beard, to name a few. The remastering for this XRCD24 was done by Tohru Kotetsu at the JVC Mastering Center.
