Joe Jackson enjoyed great success with his jazz-influenced pop, including his Top 10 single "Steppin' Out" in 1982. In total, he received five Grammy nominations and recorded 20 studio albums. On 2000's "Summer in the City - Live in New York," he amazingly bridges the gap between the biggest hits from early in his career to new arrangements and cover versions of tracks by other great musicians. Jackson classics like "Fools in Love," "You Can't Get What You Want" and "It's Different for Girls" thus meet covers of Duke Ellington's "Mood Indigo," "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles and "King of the World" by Steely Dan.
The remastering for Intervention Records was done by Kevin Gray.
