Intervention Records is proud to release the first LP from its new “Sun Records Hi-Fi Series”: Carl Perkins' groundbreaking rockabilly classic “Dance Album Of Carl Perkins” from 1957. “Dance Album Of Carl Perkins” is full of legendary tracks that are now rock standards and have been covered by artists such as Elvis Presley, the Beatles,and many others. As great as many of these interpretations from the past decades are, no one has ever performed these songs with more swag than Carl Perkins on “Dance Album Of Carl Perkins”! Album hits include “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Honey Don't,” “Matchbox,” and “Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby,” as well as cover versions of “Only You” and “Wrong Yo Yo.”
“Dance Album Of Carl Perkins” was remastered 100% analog by the legendary Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio. He had access to all analog tape sources from the label's archive. The result is impressive and proves how fantastic mono recordings can sound when specially prepared for playing with modern stereo cartridges. The LP reissue from Intervention Records was pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Gotta Groove Records and cut at 45 RPM. In keeping with its status, “Dance Album Of Carl Perkins” comes in an “old-style” sleeve from Stoughton Printing – including the iconic album cover.
