Sound of China - Moon Dancing [One Step]

The multi-award-winning pipa player Zhao Cong is one of the best-known artists in the Chinese music world. The leading soloist of the China National Traditional Orchestra on the four-string Chinese lute has worked with many well-known orchestras and musicians at home and abroad and has played in the most prestigious concert halls on her concert tours through Europe, America, and Asia. When Universal Music released her album “Sound Of China: Dance In The Moon” in 2008, it was the first CD of traditional Chinese music to be released worldwide in the company's history. “Sound Of China: Dance In The Moon” was also added to the catalogs of the Chinese and American national libraries.
Zhao Cong succeeds in harmoniously combining tradition and modernity with her imaginative, versatile playing and unique style. In addition, the international music production offers a successful combination of Eastern and Western culture: all the songs on this album were written by Chinese composer Ma Jiu Yue. The Czech Filmharmonic Orchestra accompanied Zhao Cong during the recording at the Rudolfinum in Prague, and the recording was made by renowned Danish sound engineer Hans Nielsen.
