Jen Chapin, daughter of Harry Chapin, singer of “Cats In The Cradle,” is a New York urban folk singer, songwriter, and activist with a strong sense of social justice. In 2008, accompanied by her husband, bassist Stephan Crump, and saxophonist Chris Cheek, she created the album “ReVisions,” on which she reinterpreted songs by Stevie Wonder to contribute musically to Barack Obama's historic rise to the presidency of the United States. “ReVisions” is both a testament to Chapin's unique artistic sensibility and a tribute to the enduring appeal and relevance of Wonder's songwriting. The album also includes two songs written by her.
“ReVisions” is a unique gem in the Chesky Records catalog. As part of the “Chesky Original Masters” series, Evosound now presents an outstanding reissue of this wonderful album: The Hybrid SACD brilliantly showcases Chesky's famous production and recording techniques and comes with a booklet including new liner notes and a recent interview with Jen Chapin.
