Grammy-winning jazz keyboardist, arranger, and record producer Bob James returns with his first album in twelve years as a bandleader. James is considered one of the founders of smooth jazz, but his music has also had a profound influence on the history of other musical genres and artists. For example, “Nautilus” from the 1974 album “One” is still one of the most sampled tracks in music history.
As always, James' sound is characterized by sophistication, polished elegance and clear production. As with all of James' releases, the sound concept remains coherent from the first to the last note: Billy Kilsons' gentle drumming and Michael Palazollos' sweet bass lines provide the excellent platform for James' keyboard-orchestrated sound.
