The Four Seasons is probably one of the most recorded classical works, and this recording from 1992 has been released several times. Audionautes is now releasing it as a treat for audiophile ears in a single-stage pressing. The recording was made in the church of San Martino in Treviso, Italy. It features the musicians of the 'Merry Marca' (Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca), a baroque ensemble founded in 1983. The first violin is made by Guarneri and is played here by Giuliano Carmignola, who is regarded as one of the best violinists in Italy.
