A jewel of the RCA Living Stereo series, this recording of Schubert's beloved “Trout Quintet” unites four chamber music legends – violinist Szymon Goldberg, violist William Primrose, cellist Nikolai Graudan and pianist Victor Babin – joined by Stuart Sankey on double bass. What makes it so remarkable is the effortless interplay between these masters: refined, spirited, and full of warmth. Captured in Living Stereo's famously natural sound, this album remains one of the most joyful and intimate performances of the Trout Quintet ever preserved. The “Trout Quintet” itself is one of the most beloved works in the chamber repertoire, and in the hands of these players it becomes a performance to treasure: vibrant, lyrical, and endlessly rewarding.
The reissue of the “RCA Living Stereo Classical” series by Analogue Productions meets the highest audiophile standards: Mathew Lutthans (The Mastering Lab) is responsible for remastering the original tapes. The double LP (45 RPM) includes a 2-page booklet and was pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using Classic Records equipment.
