Fritz Reiner and RCA were an unbeatable team, and Reiner's 1957 recording of 'Pictures at an Exhibition' with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is one of their greatest successes. With a big stage, astonishing clarity and spectacular presence, this is one of those recordings that will amaze and delight even the most seasoned listener.
This hybrid multi-channel SACD is not to be confused with the earlier Bertelsmann Music Group SACD release. The recordings in the new RCA series have been remastered by Ryan Smith; the stereo mix has been created from the original 3-channel recordings.
