Características
The relationship between Dizzy Gillespie and Ray Brown began in the mid-1940s, when Brown was the bass player in Gillespie's great big band. Joe Pass and Mickey Roker joined a little later. When Dizzy heard them, he knew immediately that they were among the musicians who were part of the bebop tradition founded by him and Charlie Parker.
"Dizzy Gillespie's Big 4" is without doubt one of the best recordings of Dizzy Gillespie in a small band from the last phase of his career. The remastering for Analogue Productions was done by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab.
