Bad Company set a furious pace in the early years of their career: Between 1974 and 1977, four albums were released and constantly accompanied by touring. After the recordings for “Burnin' Sky”, the band members were exhausted and worn down – they decided to take a break. Two years later, on March 17, 1979, to be exact, Bad Company released their fifth album: “Desolation Angels” showed the band with fresh hard rock forces – but still committed to their characteristic sound.
The success of “Desolation Angels” proved that Bad Company had a dedicated fan base and was able to hold its own against the rising tide of young punk rock and new wave acts: the album reached number 10 in the UK and number 3 in the US album charts, and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy” became one of the band's best-selling singles. To date, “Desolation Angels” has sold more than 2 million copies – double platinum status!
For the 75th anniversary of Atlantic Records, Analogue Productions is now reissuing this chart-topping classic – as a luxurious double LP on 180-gram vinyl, cut at 45 RPM and manufactured by Quality Record Pressings. The gatefold double pocket was designed by Stoughton Printing.
