Powering B&W Nautilus 801 studio monitor speakers, we could not resist to name our new monoblock, Nemo.
The Electrocompaniet Nemo was developed to sufficiently drive and control the B&W Nautilus 801, which demands a very high voltage swing and current capability. The Electrocompaniet Nemo is a power amplifier capable of delivering more than 600 watts of undistorted power into any load for maximum fidelity reference monitoring purposes.
Electrocompaniet’s products are renowned for uncompromising sonic qualities. Our cutting edge balanced system technology is implemented in the design of the Nemo.
The Electrocompaniet Nemo is based on the acclaimed AW 180 M monoblock power amplifier, operating in a balanced/bridged configuration, where both halves of the bridge are fully balanced. By such a design, we achieve "double" cancellations that reduce harmonic distortion and noise to a minimum.
Distortion will normally increase dramatically in all ordinary bridged power amplifier designs.
But due to our unique balanced system design – distortion is largely reduced – even when the power output is increased by 3,8 times compared to a single ended designed power amplifier.
For maximum reproduction quality, the power supply in each Nemo is totally separated for each half of the bridge.
